LE CUIR A PARIS will celebrated its 10th birthday during the forthcoming edition to be held from 20 to 22 September in Hall 4 of the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition centre. It is in this festive atmosphere that 12 new companies coming from France (G-Project), Italy (Conceria Caravaggio;
Dolmen ; Duma), the UK (G.H Leathers; Walter Reginald; Joseph Clayton &sons), Spain (Tecnopiel), Hong Kong (Pelle Magna International), Turkey (Badesa ; Desa Deri) and Romania (S.C. Bertocouri) will enrich the presentation of the autumn/winter 2012-2013 collections. With 261 exhibitors already signed up, and a rise in stand surface area, the participation of exhibitors is on track to be greater than in September 2010. Fashion and the luxury sector are riding the leather and fur trend, increasingly visible in their collections.
For the first time, we are inviting you to join in a series of conferences, run by professionals from the sector:
Extra & Ordinary: leather for life – was shown each day of the show at 10 am
A conference designed and presented by Guillemette Schlegel, an artistic director in charge of style and trend
consulting for projects in fashion, leather, beauty, food and the home.
Retro-Prospective: leather, man’s best friend – each day of the showed at 11 am
A pictorial journey through the history of leather and the new desires it generates, designed by Agence
Polyphème, to illustrate the 10th anniversary of the show.
Ecoleather: myth or reality? -
this was proven both at Tuesday and Wednesday - 2pm
A conference presented by CTC, the Leather, Footwear and Leather Goods Technical Centre.
This was a prime opportunity to discuss the key issues surrounding leather with professionals from the sector – we hope to see many of you there!
LE CUIR A PARIS, trend setter, offers everyone a range of fashion and design information tools.
The Trend Gallery previews the leathers and materials that will be in fashion in Autumn/Winter 2012-2013, as well as the colour palette for the season, exclusive to the show and on sale there. As with each autumn edition, LE CUIR A PARIS shows how leather can be used in the home. Natural Home Leather, an exhibition designed by François Bernard, will showcase natural leather: parchment and vegetable-tanned leather.
Since its inception, LE CUIR A PARIS has supported design and in this auspicious year, design pays tribute to it. To celebrate the show’s 10th birthday, 10 international designers, who have all shown their work at the Village des Créateurs in the past, will showcase at LE CUIR A PARIS unique handmade items, produced using the leather samples provided by exhibitors. Come and discover these original creations from Audrey Fallope, Hélène Thoorens, Yasuhiro Shiota, Odette Bombardier, Marion Courtillé, Estelle Yomeda, Valérie Saïd, Nouria Nehari, Virginie Epron (Lolita Pompadour) and also the fur department of the Central Ostrobothnia University in Finland. The CTC will complete this area with its “Cuir & Creation” platform. And last but not least, you can admire the research being done on the fur of tomorrow, carried out by the talented students who are the finalists in the Saga Fur competition, being run in 5 German design schools.
