True to its heritage and its interest in the art of its times, in 2008 and under the impetus of General Manager Franka Holtmann, Le Meurice founded the Meurice Prize for contemporary art, and in doing so asserted its support of young French artists.
This act of corporate patronage is a non-profit initiative which each year provides financial support that will help an artist on the French scene gain international recognition. The Meurice Prize for contemporary art is an international award with an endowment of 20,000 euros.
It concerns all disciplines in the visual and plastic arts (painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video, etc.). The Meurice Prize distinguishes a project of international stature, proposed by an artist and their gallery, a week before the Fiac contemporary art fair in Paris. Previous winners are Zoulikha Bouabdellah, represented by La B.A.N.K Gallery in 2008/2009, Renaud Auguste-Dormeuil, represented
by In Situ Gallery in 2009/2010, and Eric Baudart represented by Chez Valentin Gallery in 2010/2011.

The Meurice Prize for contemporary art is supported by Beaux Arts Magazine.
